Keynote Lecture: Nurse Practitioner Workforce and Health Equity: Building a Program of Research.
Keynote Speaker: Lusine Poghosyan, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN.
Lusine Poghosyan is the Stone Foundation and Elise D. Fish Professor of Nursing and Professor of Health Policy and Management at Columbia University. Poghosyan's research focuses on health services with an emphasis on studying primary care organizations, the health care workforce, and quality of patient care, especially for chronic diseases. Her work demonstrates how nurse practitioners can be best utilized as primary care providers to ensure that patients, particularly from underserved communities, have access to high-quality patient care. Currently she is the Principal Investigator on multiple projects, including those funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research, the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the National Institute on Aging, among others.
